Ole Wieth Christensen is head of the Route Development Department at Copenhagen Airports A/S (CPH).
CPH markets itself as Scandinavia’s Hub since the airport is the largest airport in Scandinavia and Baltic Europe. Developing the low cost traffic in CPH – while still developing the more traditional hub-and-spoke network – is one of the challenges Ole and his team are faced with.
Prior to joining CPH four years ago, Ole Wieth Christensen worked in the medical business as Key Account Manager, with the responsibility for sales and marketing in Denmark.
He holds a MBA in International Management from Monterey Institute of International Studies in California (2001) and a M.Sc. in International Business from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark (2002) where he wrote his Master Thesis on the Low Cost Threat facing SAS on the Scandinavian Capital Triangle.

Brian earned a Bachelor’s degree from Colgate University in economics and history, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He is a licensed private pilot, and resides with his wife and three children outside San Francisco, California.

or Amadeus. Alex, 42, is originally from Bilbao, Spain. He graduated as an industrial engineer from Central Michigan University. Later, he obtained a Masters of Science degree from The Ohio State University, specializing in e-business applications for small/medium size enterprises (1990). On leaving Harvard Francesca joined PepsiCo's UK base in Reading as Assistant Marketing Manager on the Walker's Crisp brand (#1 Food brand in the UK). It was from PepsiCo that she moved into the travel industry with Thomas Cook as Head of Thomas Cook Promotions for two years and with Going Places as Commercial & Marketing Director for four years. Going to US for a second time in 2001, he served as guest professor in the University of Illinois, followed by a position of Research Engineer in Advanced Innovative Technologies Inc, in Troy, New York, between 2002 and 2003.
Dr. Kotil started his career with Turkish Airlines in 2003, as the Deputy General Manager in Turkish Technic, Inc. He became the CEO of Turkish Airlines in 2005. Dr. Kotil has served on the Board of Governors of IATA since 2006.
Mr. Kotil, married with 4 children, has many articles and publications in the aeronautical science journals, and papers in seminars and conferences.

John Leahy was appointed Chief Operating Officer - Customers in July 2005, continuing his responsibilities as Chief Commercial Officer of Airbus, a role he held since August 1994. His responsibilities cover all commercial activities including sales, marketing, contracts, business transaction control, asset management, leasing, and business development. Mr. Leahy is a member of the Airbus Executive Committee
One of Mr. Leahy’s the greatest achievements was to raise Airbus’ market share from 18% in 1995 to 50% in 1999, where it has been maintained to this day. Mr. Leahy also led the commercial activities that resulted in the successful launch of Airbus’ next generation flagship aircraft which set the standards for large aircraft in the 21st century, the A380 and the A350 XWB.
Mr. Leahy worked for seven years in marketing at Piper Aircraft before joining Airbus North America in January 1985. He became head of sales in 1988 and then became President of Airbus North America, where his responsibilities included sales and marketing, as well as sales finance and contracts activities for the important American and Canadian markets. Mr. Leahy was responsible for the penetration of the strategic North American market, where most major US airlines are now Airbus customers.
Mr. Leahy has an MBA from Syracuse University with concentration in both Finance and Transportation Management and a BA from Fordham University with a dual major in Communications and Philosophy. He is also a licensed multi-engine commercial pilot and a former flight instructor with more than 3,700 hours of flying time.
He was born in New York in August 1950 and is married with three children. His hobbies include, in addition to selling aircraft, sailing and scuba diving.

Simon has been on a fast track within the airline industry since he joined the industry in 1995. Simon spent 5 years at British Airways holding a number of commercial positions within the airline in the UK and overseas, before moving to Flybe.
In his current role as Director of Marketing, Simon launched the Flybe.com brand and has since been instrumental in the development of the airline to become the UK’s 3rd largest low cost airline brand, transforming the financial performance of the airline as a result. Simon is also responsible for Flybe’s ancillary revenues which has now become industry leading, and managed a world first with the introduction of baggage charging in 2006.
The recent acquisition of BA Connect and more recent extension of the brand with the world’s first low cost airline franchise agreement, means Simon will be responsible for the Marketing, Product Development and Ancillary Revenues for Europe’s largest regional low cost airline carrying up to 8m passengers a year across 160 routes.
Simon is married with two young boys, which enable him to relive his footballing youth, but prevent him from spending enough time on the golf course.

Chris Tarry worked outside the City of London for a number of years. In 1984 he became an engineering analyst, focusing first on Aviation and was voted the UK’s leading aerospace analyst for the years that there was a separate FTSE grouping, before switching to focus wholly on transport and particularly airlines, a sector he has followed professionally since the early 1980s. In this period Chris was also regularly ranked in the top three European transport analysts and led a number of major international share issues.
In December 2002 he established CTAIRA to provide research, consulting services and advice on and to the transport and aviation industries in the areas of business planning, including strategy and strategic development; industry and market forecasting and performance measurement and evaluation. These services are provided to a broad and growing spectrum of clients; airlines, manufacturing companies, airport owners, government bodies and banks and other financial institutions, covering a wide range of strategic, financial and market related issues. He is and has been an advisor to government departments and the UK Parliament on aviation issues including the review of air transport arrangements for the Royal Family and senior Government ministers; he was a member of the UK CAA’s advisory group in respect of the charging regime for the UK’s regulated airports.
He has undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in economics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a member of the Securities Institute and a Liveryman of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators.
He also holds a private pilot’s licence. He gives regular lectures at Cranfield, the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford and the London School of Economics and is a Visiting Senior Fellow in the School of Management at the University of Surrey.

Arian started his business career in late 1994 with VLM Airlines at Rotterdam Airport (RTM). Being responsible for Marketing & Sales, From VLM, after 5 enervating years with this regional airline, Arian moved to Schreiner Aviation Group, a Dutch air capacity provider in the airline and oil & gas industry. Being responsible for the fixed wing operation, his days were filled with looking after & optimizing operations and contracts with Sabena, Trans Travel Airlines & in the Libyan dessert.
In 2003, with Schreiner returning to its core business in the oil & gas industry, Arian picked up a challenge in the Dutch Caribbean. At the island of Bonaire, he became responsible for setting up a regional airline, BonairExel, which set out to give the local island communities a quality alternative for their travel demands between the islands of Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba & St. Maarten. It succeeded in doing so, which eventually led to another challenge: setting up a regular air service between Curacao and Amsterdam.
In Spring 2005, Arian decided to move back to home turf and join Transavia Airlines, picking up a new challenge on Marketing & Sales. Today, I am responsible for Business Development on the B2C side, with focal points network development, distribution & innovation.

Before conceiving the idea of a new Central-European low fare – low cost airline, József Váradi held the positions of Chief Executive Officer at Malév Hungarian Airlines. Váradi led the Restructuring Program of the company, which resulted in a major improvement of economics, cutting losses from €50 million to €10 million over 2 years. Prior to joining the airline industry, he had a 10 year successful commercial carrier at Procter&Gamble, leaving the company as Sales Director Global Customers for Central and Eastern Europe. Together with 5 friends and airline experts he founded Wizz Air in September 2003. The first flight took off on 19th May 2004. Váradi now leads one of Europe’s fastest developing and CEE’s largest low cost airline, which carried over 3 million passengers in 2006. Wizz Air today has 6 operating bases: Katowice, Warsaw, Gdansk in Poland, Budapest in Hungary, Sofia in Bulgaria, Bucharest in Romania and flies to close to 50 European destinations on more than 80 routes. With one of the largest aircraft orders of 44 new A320s, Wizz Air’s fleet should consist of up to 53 aircraft by 2012. In January 2007 Váradi has been awarded the ‘Innovator’ award on Ernst&Young’s ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ gala in Hungary.
