 Dr. Hugh Dunleavy,
Executive Vice-President - Commercial Distribution WestJet Hugh has an undergraduate degree in Physics and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Sheffield University in the UK. He has also acquired extensive skills and experience in Operations Research, Operations Management and airline economics. He has been working in the airline industry for approximately twenty five years and has established a solid reputation for delivering exceptional results and adding value to the airlines. He has a strong background across Marketing, Sales, Distribution and IT aspects of the airline business with a particular emphasis on Sales, Distribution, Revenue Management and Pricing. He has maintained strong links with academia and has held the position of adjunct Professor of Operations Management at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University. He has also been one of the North American editors for the Journal of Pricing and Revenue Management. During his career he has worked with many of the largest international airlines on a wide variety of commercial issues. Hugh is a frequent speaker at academic and airline industry conferences. Hugh is the Executive Vice President Strategy and Planning at WestJet Airlines with responsibility for Network Planning, Scheduling, Information Technology, Pricing and Revenue Management, Government and Regulatory Affairs and Airline Partnerships.
