Shashank Nigam, a well respected airline marketing and branding strategist referred to by branding gurus as “a future business leader to watch”. On Twitter, Shashank is one of the Top 5 most “followed” as well as one of the Top 5 most “influential” on airlines. Most recently, Shashank became the youngest awardee of the Global Brand Leadership Award, for his groundbreaking work in airline branding. Shashank is the CEO of SimpliFlying, a global airline brand consulting company based out of Singapore and New York. An IATA- certified trainer, Shashank has received a lot of attention for his ideas concerning airline branding and social media, having been featured extensively on CNN Travel, CNBC, MSNBC, Bloomberg UTV, NDTV Profit and in leading press like The Straits Times, Aviation Week, DARE and The Indian Express over the past year. Shashank is also the contributing author of two highly acclaimed branding books (see acknowledgment page) – Measuring Marketing: 103 Key Metrics Every Marketer Needs (Wiley, Fall 2006) and Magic Numbers for Sales Management (Wiley, Winter 2007). He has also written commentaries for The New Paper in Singapore for over a year. Shashank is also the Global Head for Brand Strategy at Airline Capital Associates in New York City and on the Board of Advisors at Global Health Care Policy Council. Shashank studied Information Systems Management and Business Management at Singapore Management University and Carnegie Mellon University. He was born and brought up in New Delhi, spent most of his adolescent years in Singapore and currently resides in Boston and Singapore.
