The Budgie$ has been created to recognise the leaders, innovators, creative talents and pioneers in the Asia Pacific’s Low Cost Airlines industry. Its mission is to identify and reward the individuals, teams and airlines who have demonstrated an unparalleled ability to succeed. We are resurrecting the Budgie$ awards in 2010 and has re-invented it to reflect the current realities of changing market paradigms that the industry is experiencing. BEST MARKETING CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR
For a marketing campaign that is innovative, well articulated, clear in its aims and objectives and has achieved a high level of commercial success.
Open to all LCC airlines. Entries should focus on the marketing campaigns that were developed in 2009-2010. Details of your airline’s marketing strategies including but not limited to brand development efforts and initiatives with various marketing partners/channels as well as sales and marketing initiatives and activities to increase passenger ticket sales

BEST ANCILLARY INNOVATION AWARD OF THE YEAR
Ancillary revenue generation has taken up a larger focus in the last couple of years. LCCs in particular has been leveraging on different channels to rake in ancillary income to make the business of flying low cost more profitable and innovative through the unbundling of services traditionally offered to passengers. This award recognises the most innovative ancillary revenue model implemented by a LCC through the offering of creative services and products to passengers as well as the strategies it adopted to achieve a high level of commercial success.

Airline e-commerce has revolutionised the way air tickets are purchased. No longer will consumers need to go through traditional distribution channels to purchase an air ticket but rather can choose to go online to purchase what they need conveniently. For LCCs, e-commerce is their bread and butter. It provides the most cost-effective channel for them to secure customers and to provide potential ancillary services for them. This award recognises the LCC that has implemented an e-commerce system that has helped the airline to achieve:

Open to all airports in the Asia Pacific. Entries should focus on how the airport supports its LCC customers, suppliers and service providers. Judges will be paying particular attention to:
• Innovative marketing strategies used in promoting its locale as a must-visit destination
• Specific initiatives that have been undertaken to enhance the experience of its airline customers
• Infrastructure in place to support suppliers and service providers of low cost carriers.
